Technicians and Professionals from EEDAS, encharged of the integrated audits of the generation system operated by Sopesa; and the generation system for Waste Derived Fuel -CDR-, installed by  Interaseo Company, carried out a verification visit to the system that from now on, introduces substantial changes to the management of waste in the archipelago, with permanent tests that will begin on March 15, in compliance with a legal disposition, based on the ruling of the Administrative Contentious Court of San Andrés, derived from a Popular Action filed by citizens and authorities of the island.

An audit visit was made by EEDAS, to validate that, both the concession of the management of the waste disposal site and the generation of energy through waste, have the works in tune with the new stage that is coming.  The experts of the Energy Company of the Archipelago, went through all the stages that make up the new model of waste use.

“As auditors of these processes, it is very satisfactory to have reached the moment when all those efforts of the National and Departmental Government, as well as the ministries that have committed to transforming what was one of the most critical environmental problems of the archipelago,  became a tangible solution for the population of the islands ”, expressed Randy Bent Hooker, manager of EEDAS S.A. E.S.P.

Within the framework of the auditing functions performed by EEDAS S.A. To both concessions, permanent inspection visits will continue during continuous tests to verify that the activities are carried out within the contractual commitments and compliance with the environmental, administrative, social, financial, technical, legal and industrial safety indicators.
