MARCH 21, INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS

Forests are too valuable to lose as they are critical to combating climate change, thus contributing significantly to the benefit of present and future generations.

In order to raise awareness of this problem, the theme for 2022 of the International Day is: “Forests: sustainable consumption and production”. The motto calls for choosing sustainable wood for people and the planet.

DID YOU KNOW…
Forests are home to more than 80% of animal and plant species.

More than 1.6 billion people depend on forests to survive by providing them with food, medicine, fuel and shelter.

Every year, the world loses 10 million hectares of forests.
